Choosing the Castle Trust Group as your Pension Administrator or Trustee

The Castle Trust Group was formed in 1992. It comprises a group of many specialist companies providing financial services. The main company, Castle Trust & Management Services Limited (CTMS) is audited by Deloitte and registered with the Financial Services Commission (FSC) as a professional Trustee. Other companies in the Group hold licenses for corporate management, nominee shareholdings, secretarial and directorship functions.

We provide a full range of Administration and Trustee services to Pensions. There are a number of different Pension types we act for including:

  • Qualifying Recognised Overseas Pension Schemes (QROPS)
  • International Pension Schemes and Savings Plans
  • Funded Unapproved Retirement Benefit Schemes (FURBS)
  • Gibraltar resident Pension arrangements

We have built up a wealth of experience in dealing with pension and employee benefit matters. We have specialised in International pension arrangements, including cross jurisdictional matters, since 1993. Ten years before the QROPS legislation was passed in the UK, we were successfully liaising with HMRC and the Pensions and Superannuation Office (PSO) to agree transfers of pensions from the UK to Gibraltar. We were therefore significantly practising in this area over 10 years before the enabling legislation was passed. We administer more QROPS based in Gibraltar than any other Trust company. We also arrange regular visits outside Gibraltar to meet potential users of our QROPS and other pension arrangements to give genuine face to face advice on a no cost basis. We aim to provide a truly independent service and are not tied to any particular bank or major financial institution. We prefer our clients to choose exactly which of our services they may use. In the pension sector we act as Pensioneer Trustee and administrator of the pension portfolio. Additionally, we can provide investment advice and guidance on the most suitable investment products, taking into consideration the medium and long term nature of the pension’s function. Alternatively, we can work closely with individual pension members so that they can act as an investment adviser to their own pension fund. We aim to ensure that as much control and input emanates from the pension beneficiaries themselves under the rules and regulations of their Pension Trust Deed.

The Castle Trust Group does not give specific advice on pension arrangements for individuals. We strongly recommend independent advice is provided by those who are specialists and leading providers of information and analysis. We can recommend organisations who we have found in practice to provide the finance services in this area such as Premier Financial Solutions
